Carol Hilleary

Carol Hilleary is a painter living in Cross Lanes, West Virginia.  She was born in 1953, in Elkins, West Virginia.  Carol began her love for pastels while in high school.  She further developed that love by receiving a B.A. in liberal arts with an art major from Glenville State College.  Over the years she has explored various techniques.  Her work is identifiable with its highly blended softness.
In order to feed her desire for details, Carol pursued some architectural pen and ink drawings which led to some historical sites displaying her work.  This included the Cashtown Inn in Cashtown, Pennsylvania and the museum of Buffalo history in Buffalo, West Virginia.  In recent years she has taken her work a step farther by receiving training in watercolors from well-known artist, Lynn Ferris.  This has opened up a whole new dynamic to her.  The use of layering and working from shadow to light has been an amazing journey with the result being some lovely watercolor paintings.  Her work has been displayed as the Artist of the Month at the former ProArt, art supply store in Charleston and can be found in multiple public and private art collections.
Carol frames her work  and has begun doing the same for others.  Her finished product is not only attractive but very reasonably priced.
