Nanette Perry

Born in Alabama, I was accustomed to painting the rural landscapes and country nuances of those rolling hills. However, as a recent transplant to West Virginia, I am thoroughly enjoying my artistic introduction to the beauty that is uniquely West Virginia. The rugged, dramatic views of the mountaineer state have forced me out of the familiar into new realms of artistic development. Considering myself a plein air painter at heart, I have found a broader field of subject matter that never grows tiresome. Although never receiving a formal art education, I am constantly seeking to improve my skill.  My goal is to produce art which connects us with the very essence of our lives, appealing to the emotions, and depicting the beauty in the world in which we live. There is a sublime loveliness in the ordinary and THAT is what I pursue with each painting.
