Monty Brown

A retired United Methodist pastor and lawyer, Monty Brown fell into his love of painting late, by accident. With oil paints as his primary medium, the exercise of painting became for him a playful act of spiritual co-creation. Monty now paints plein air landscapes, traveling with a group of other artists. In his studio, he also paints still life arrangements and iconic narrative puzzles. Monty enjoys such creative challenges almost as well as painting portraits, which he still does by commission. Always prone to whimsy, Monty likes to sign his art for sale with a red stick figure face with ten hairs sticking out.
