Damienne Dibble | A Walk in the Woods
Hawk's Nest, a recent sculpture by Damienne Dibble (above left) includes a vintage stoneware bowl she made as a potter in the 1970s. Her sculpture was selected for the biennial juried exhibition sponsored by Allied Artists of West Virginia, along with 9 other Gallery Eleven artists. Shaping wire for her artisan jewelry and suncatchers has led Damienne to explore the world of wire bonsai and wire tree landscapes. "It takes time to ponder and shape each tree from roots to trunk to branches," she says, "but the process appeals to my lifelong awe of trees for their longevity and resilience. Wire has a similar character I love working with."
Damienne will also have new gem and metal jewelry for sale with her 'house jewelry' and ornaments in November's group exhibition, A Walk in the Woods, in the rear gallery at Charleston Town Center. Gallery Eleven's newest member artist, Andrea Anderson, has an intriguing series of tree paintings for sale along with JoeAnn Crawford, Joyce Daniels, and other Gallery Eleven artists. Don't miss our public reception for the show on Sunday, November 10 from 2-5PM, with refreshments and music by the Trad Warlords.
