Bob Fisher | New Dimensions
New Dimensions is the theme for this month's Featured Artists post and gallery exhibit, with hilarious new "sculptured stories" by Bob Fisher, and a collection of plein air canvases by Nanette Perry and Monty Brown painted on a recent trip to Ireland.
With recycled materials collected from flea markets and trash bins, Bob Fisher builds his outrageous characters and situations to depict the irony in a variety of themes and quotes he calls sculptured stories. "I weld, glue, bolt, and sometimes, pray, to hold the parts together. Some parts I sculpt from clay. My daily mantra – situation hopeless, but not serious – always inspires my creative motivation."
Bob's funny sculptures make memorable gifts to share among loved ones--especially while their prices are still affordable for beginning art collections. Their growing popularity among Charleston's tourists promises future collectors' value in an ever-expanding art market.
Nanette Perry and Monty Brown have expanded the concept of buddy painting on group day trips to include international travel for recording painterly sights on canvas. This month, our rear gallery proudly displays twenty paintings for sale under $500 from their recent artists' journey to Ireland. You must see how these canvases convey the joy in their latest adventure. Nanette and Monty are now off to Canada for another painterly tour.
