Innocents, watercolor painting of flowers

Awyn Danielle McQueen Milam | Hearts and Flowers

January 30, 20251 min read

February's Featured Artist at Gallery Eleven is Awyn Danielle Milam, who took up painting to hedge against her aging vocal capacities after a long performing and teaching career in music. Twenty years later, she now divides her creative energy between music and painting with oils or watercolors, showing a sensitive eye for the hidden emotional charms of nature.

Danielle originally came to Gallery Eleven by way of a painting she submitted to the Gallery's Crazy 8's competition some years back. As an active Gallery Eleven partner today, she also serves as lighting expert and secretary to the co-op.

Befitting the romantic theme for the month, Danielle's Hearts and Flowers Exhibit is displaying her expressive portraiture of loved ones, as well as a beautiful new series of framed flower bouquets in delicate watercolors, which she associates with various emotions or states of mind. These paintings for sale at $175 each are matted and framed 11" x 14". Bulk pricing is available for purchasing 2 or more.

A reception for her exhibit will be held on Saturday, February 8, from 3-5 PM at Gallery Eleven, 1st floor near Center Court in Charleston Town Center. Refreshments will be served, including a birthday cake to celebrate all February birthdays. As a special treat, romantic vibraphone music will be provided by Plus One (Danielle's musician husband). Purchases of Danielle's work on that day will get an additional 10% off. Perfect time for choosing a unique valentine gift for those you love.
